Sad news reaches us today that Drew Struzan, the man behind so many classic Star Wars movie posters and novel and album covers, passed away yesterday. He was 78 years old. Born 18th March 1947, Struzan produced over 150 movie posters for franchises including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Back to the Future, Harry Potter and so many more. A fixture of many of our childhoods, his work will live on far into the future.

George Lucas had this to say about the late, great Drew Struzan.

Many Steven Spielberg films were graced by the artwork of Drew Struzan, and he gave this tribute.
Industrial Light & Magic, who’s classic logo was painted by Struzan, had this to say.
Drews longtime friend and business partner Ben Stevens of Official Pix and Galactic Gallery posted this tribute.
Steve Sansweet of Rancho Obi-Wan also remembered Struzan.
