Ross Beadman, youngling Sors Bandeam from Revenge of the Sith took part in a reddit AMA last week and went into detail on his infamous scene opposite Hayden Christensen, explaining how they garnered his innocent reaction on set.
In a Reddit AMA, Jedi youngling actor Ross Beadman revealed how that moment came about. Beadman revealed that his startled jump backward was unplanned. Instead, it was prompted by Christensen shouting “boo” at the children on set. Beadman says that Christensen “startled [him]” and that it “add[ed] to [his] fear in the scene.” Presumably, the startled jumping back was caught by the cameras and added in post-production after Anakin unsheathes his lightsaber.
