Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has broken some sales records

rStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has broken records this past few days since it’s launch and Forbes take a closer look at the game and how well it has done.

According to a press release from EA, it is “the fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game in its first two weeks.” It is also “EA’s top-selling Star Wars title on PC in its initial launch window.”

For one thing, digital sales are up across the board, certainly from 2015 but even from 2017. More people are buying games digitally and fewer people are buying physical-based media. This could simply be a sign of the times, with Jedi: Fallen Order selling more digitally in general and less physical copies. After all, this news does not claim that the game outsold EA’s other Star Wars games in total, or on console.

For another, while the game may be selling well in its opening launch window, unlike other EA games with bushels of micro-transactions, loot boxes and all the rest, Respawn respects its customers enough to just sell them the game with all those (albeit kind of boring) cosmetics included. (I would love to see them release a DLC planet in a few months, though. I would buy that).
