So what is Hyperspace Stories exactly? You may have noticed Padmè, Anakin and Obi-Wan on the cover and be led to believe this is a Clone Wars-era comic and that’s true for this issue but not necessarily true for subsequent stories. Taking over from IDW’s Adventures series, each issue will tell a different tale from all eras of the Star Wars canon. As previously mentioned, this issue focuses on Anakin, Padmè and Obi-Wan In the early days of the Clone Wars as Padmè embarks on a diplomatic mission to the Moon of Staggec accompanied by Woolie Senator Yarua and his young daughter Viiveenn. It wouldn’t be Star Wars if there wasn’t some dastardly plot full of droids and danger. Enter our two favourite dashing young Master and Apprentice of the Clone Wars to swashbuckle their way to victory and rescue. All of the familiar players are characterised well by writer Amanda Deibert, even if they are somewhat simplified caricatures, but that’s to be expected given the target audience.
