BEWARE SPOILERS: The latest animated series has arrived – Tales Of The Jedi. In this spin-off from The Clone Wars we follow Ahsoka and Dooku across six episodes, and as always we post every reference, Easter egg, and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted. To begin here’s a look at episodes 1 – 3, ‘Life and Death’, ‘Justice’ and ‘Choices’.
Episode 1: Life and Death
Despite many mentions, and a small flashback in The Clone Wars episode The Gathering, this is the first time that we see Shili, the Togruta homeworld.
Talking about that flashback, in it Ahsoka seems a bit older then she is in episode considering her longer head tails.
Ahsoka’s mother Pav-ti, is voiced by Janina Gavankar who is best known as Iden Versio from Star Wars: Battlefront II.
The logo, and name, from the series is based on the logo from the Legends ongoing comic series Tales Of The Jedi.
The Kybuck returns to the canon, it was originally seen in the 2D Clone Wars series.
Baby Ahsoka’s use of the Force to connect with an animal is the same as what Ezra did with the Fyrnocks in Rebels 1×07 Out of Darkness.
Seen in the village, and throughout multiple episodes this season, are the long legged farmer droids that we also saw on Sorgan in The Mandalorian.
Episode 2: Justice
Corey Burton returns to voice Count Dooku, with Micheál Richardson debuting as the voice of the young Qui-Gon Jinn. He is the son of Liam Neeson, who of course is the Qui-Gon Jinn we know.
The shadows behind the window are a Rodian and an Arcona.
When Dooku and Jinn activate their lightsabers, the first pose they hold is their classic poses from the movies.
The Village Elder was voiced by Vanessa Marshall, who has many Star Wars voice roles, but we know her best as Hera Syndulla from Rebels (and the voice of Fantha Tracks Radio).
Another voice actor with many voice roles, most of them in Star Wars games, is Josh Keaton who voiced Senator Dagonet’s son.
Episode 3: Choices
Dooku and Windu arrive on Raxus, actually know as Raxus Secundus. This is a world we have seen before in The Clone Wars (3×10 Heroes on Both Sides) and that would have featured a lot more in the Dark Disciple story arc that ultimately was told as a novel.
The voice of Hanel may sound familiar to you, as Andrew Kishino was also the voice of the young Saw Gerrera.
Familiar faces seen during the Jedi burial of Master Katri are: Yoda, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Tera Sinube, Depa Billaba, Saesee Tiin and Jocasta Nu.
The burial follows a lot of similar beats as the burials after the Jedi Temple bombing that resulted in Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order.
