It includes epic scenes from Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and Solo. And it stars Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda, Rey, Finn, R2-D2, C-3PO, and everyone’s favorite Star Wars characters.

Publisher: Golden Books an imprint of Random House Children’s Books
Retail Price: $4.99
Release Date:  July 24, 2018

Geof Smith takes us on a fun discourse on what makes a “Wookiee” a “Wookiee”.  Utilizing the adventures of Chewbacca, we discover all of the distinguishing character traits that make them a beloved species in the Star Wars universe.  The attributes are presented in a manner for a young padawan to cultivate values such as loyalty, friendship, reliability, and integrity.  The book covers the appearances of Chewbacca and his kin throughout the films including Solo: A Star Wars Story. It’s delightful read and time well spent with the younglings.

Disney’s Victoria Ying illustrates Wookiees with a perfect blend of ferocity and friendliness.  Matched with the coloring, they give the thrill of adventure portrayed among the pages.

Chewbacca’s guardian/teddy-bear persona undoubtedly appeals to young children.  “I Am A Wookie” combines interactive storytelling with the right amount of brevity to capture and maintain the attention of 2-5 year olds.  I highly recommend this book for any Star Wars fan: young, old, or anywhere in between.
