Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #4
BREAKDOWNS
Following the Battle of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star, the galaxy is in a time of uncertainty. While the rebels forge a path toward peace, there are still those who would bring chaos and destruction. The war continues on in….
On the outskirts of the Anoat sector, Leia’s team of rebel fighters–Kes Dameron, Rynn Zenat, Jarek Yeager and Therisa Alern–fought Adelhard’s new allies, the Spice Runners of Kijimi. Narrowly escaping death, the rebel team abandoned their ship only to be caught and imprisoned by the sector’s Commander Bragh. On Adelhard’s ship, Reyna Oskure offered him the guidance of the Acolytes of the Beyond in rebuilding the Empire, but, skeptical of the Force, Adelhard refused.
Leia’s rebel crew, detained in Adelhard’s prison, were freed by an unlikely ally–Adelhard’s lieutenant Kith Alaytia! Fleeing, the team was once again hunted by Commander Bragh, alongside a mysterious Inquisitor. Badly wounded and at the mercy of Adelhard’s forces, the team surrendered. However, there is hope yet as Luke Skywalker has arrived….

Rescues, re-introductions, and reveals ignite the launch of The Battle of Jakku: Insurgency Rising #4.
Rynn Zenat’s squadron partner (and more, apparently), Preeti, is alive as an Imperial prisoner before being set free by Lieutenant Kith Alaytia, who also liberated the other rebels captives aboard Adlehard’s Star Destroyer. Respectively, Preeti and Luke Skywalker save their friends from Commander Bragh and an individual, wielding a red lightsaber who claims to be an inquisitor. Luke easily defeats the hooded figure while deeming them an imposter. Disarmed, but no less confident, Reyna Oskure removes her hood, touts the power of The Acolytes of the Beyond, and assures Luke he can’t stop what is already in motion.
The next surprise in this series, as the cut moves to space near Chandrila, is the return of Lando Calrissian—having a discussion via holo with Leia Organa and Calder Behrens. Leia informs her old friend that Luke may need support and Lando jumps into action, headed to the Anoat sector.
The fast-paced escape follows two paths as Luke confronts Adelhard while commanding the others to get to an escape vessel. Luke dominates Adlehard and his forces as Lando’s assault team rattles the Star Destroyer, causing everyone to quake and go off balance on their different paths aboard the ship. Luke eventually meets with the five members of the burgeoning New Republic at the landing bay for their escape but informs them this is far from over.
“We got our people out. We slowed Adlehard’s expansion—for now. But I caught a glimpse of who he is—who he wants to be.” A battle was won in what is yet another evolving war.
