Our pals over at Jedi News were at the recent LEGO UCS AT-AT launch on 26th November and caught up with the man behind the gold Anthony Daniels to talk all things C-3PO, LEGO, The Rise of Skywalker and much more.

AD: One of the sadnesses is when you shoot a film of that type, there is a lot of stuff that is written, maybe it’s filmed, and then it is cut away because you can’t put everything in.

One of the casualties was for 3PO, but particularly in relation to Poe, Oscar Isaac, because he was so sweetly mean casually cruel. I used to be crying on set with Oscar’s performance, as we know if you saw the film, was even better before it was cut. And he has such “oh g-d, do we have to bring him along” sort of attitude and 3PO was very hurt. It made shooting such a delight, the whole thing was. Joy to shoot.

I look for the directors cut, or the 3PO cut.

Check out their forthcoming episode of RADIO 1138 and be sure to check out a slew of forthcoming interviews on Making Tracks from this weekends Farthest From 22 including on stage talks with Guy Henry, Brian Herring and Neal Scanlan and a live episode with guests including super collector Gus Lopez.
