While we wait eagerly for The Mandalorian season 3 and Star Wars Celebration Europe, there’s also the no inconsequential matter of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny waiting for us on 30th June, and speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Harrison Ford described the process that has allowed him to act live onstage as his 80-year-old self (with a few dots for guidance) and appear onscreen as a 50-something Indy.

“That is my actual face. At that age. They have this artificial intelligence program. It can go through every foot of film Lucasfilm owns, because I did a bunch of movies for them. They have all this footage, including film that wasn’t printed … They could mine it from where the light is coming from, the expression. But that’s my actual face. I put little dots on my face and I say the words and they make it. It’s fantastic.”
