Academy Museum May the 4th Celebration and Return of the Jedi

May the 4th celebrations will be taking place around the world next week, and that includes this superb offering from the Academy Museum which sees Star Wars and Empire editor Paul Hirsch and Jedi producer Howard Kazanjian attending and culminating in a screening of the birthday boy, Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

Join the Academy Museum for a Star Wars–inspired May the 4th Celebration!

The fun-filled day includes a chance to meet and take photos with R2-D2 and participate in Star Wars–inspired hands-on activities for all ages.

We will also welcome Paul Hirsch, film editor of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Howard Kazanjian, producer of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), for two book signings.

Purchase a ticket for the day’s final event—a screening of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi to commemorate the film’s 40th anniversary!

Be sure to dress up in your best Star Wars–inspired costumes*!

Create buttons, origami paper Star Wars–inspired characters, and glow in the dark galaxy slime!
Location: Shirley Temple Education Studio

4:30–6:30pm: Photos with R2-D2!
Second chance to get a photo with R2-D2!

5–7pm: Book Signings (Tickets to the book signings sold separately)
