While the US big screen re-release of The Phantom Menace was confirmed by StarWars.com a number of weeks ago, there had been no official word on whether or not that meant countries outside of North America would also get the chance to leap back to 1999 and enjoy the return of the Star Wars saga. There have been plenty of rumours, but after contacting Disney UK directly, we’ve now got the official word – Episode I will indeed be returning to UK and selected European cinemas on Friday 3rd May, meaning even more people around the world will be able to cheer on Anakin in the podrace, boo Darth Sidious on Coruscant and step in Eopie dung like Jar Jar (well, maybe give that last one a miss).

Keep your ears opn for Fantha Tracks Radio as we’ll be chatting with 25th anniversary poster artist Matt Ferguson on an upcoming episode of Canon Fodder, and we’ll also look to confirm which of those European territories are getting Phantom. See you in the foyer!
