Onstage during the “From Clone Troopers to Bounty Hunters” at FAN EXPO Chicago this past weekend, Temuera Morrison gave something of an update regarding The Mandalorian & Grogu and whether or not Boba Fett will be appearing in the May 2026 movie. Speaking onstage he indicated that the call to arms had yet to come.

“I’m still waiting for a phone call to be quite honest. I think we’re just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later.”

Unlike numerous other websites who are reporting this as confirmation that Tem isn’t appearing in the film, this says three things to us. First, the film is in production with the obligatory reshoots taking place later in the schedule. Fellow Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito came into Captain America: Brave New World at the last minute, filming for a number of weeks to be interwoven into the fabric of the film. Second, just because he says he’s not had a call / isn’t appearing etc means nothing – Liam Neeson wasn’t in Kenobi, until he was.

Finally, Morrison wouldn’t be cleared to announce his involvement onstage at a convention when Lucasfilm could make headlines worldwide by announcing that the legendary Boba Fett is back on the big screen almost 25 years after Daniel Logan played young Fett in Attack of the Clones.

We discuss the possibility of a Boba Fett return on tomorrow nights 202nd episode of Making Tracks, which lands at 7.00pm on Amazon, Apple, Soundcloud or your podcatcher of choice.
