In celebration of May the Fourth, Disney’s Team of Heroes and Starlight Children’s Foundation joined forces to host a special Star Wars experience for the patients and families at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

Alden Ehrenreich, star of the upcoming film Solo: A Star Wars Story, joined R2-D2, Darth Vader and other favorite characters for special activities that “virtually” transported patients to a galaxy far, far away, providing moments of comfort and joy in ways that only Disney can.

The visit was part of Disney’s new Team of Heroes philanthropy and outreach program focused on Children’s Hospitals. In March, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced a five-year plan to dedicate more than $100 million in company resources to reinvent the patient and family experience in children’s hospitals across the globe. This plan continues the Company’s rich legacy of supporting children’s hospitals, which dates back to Walt Disney.
