It’s a piece of movie history, from the film that 41 years ago literally changed the world, and now it can be yours. Check out Hollywood Memorabilia and their upcoming Ebay auction which gives you the chance – if you have the power of the moolah on your side – to own a slice of the dreaded Death Star.
Ahead of the upcoming film release, fans of the galaxy far, far away can own an original production piece of the Empire’s ultimate weapon – the Death Star – which is up for sale exclusively on eBay beginning Thursday 5/23 through Saturday 6/3.
About the piece of Star Wars history:
In partnership with Hollywood Memorabilia, this exclusive screen-used, sectional piece of the Death Star was featured in Star Wars: Episode IV and utilized for special effects. The iconic piece of Star Wars history has remained mostly uncirculated with the Star Wars community, until now.
Very few of these Death Star sectional pieces exist. After filming, much of the Death Star was lost, but this authentic piece was discovered and salvaged. The prop was kept by an ex-ILM employee for the next 37 years, and stored in a safe for the last 4 years. It will come with an accompanying letter of authenticity.
The original Death Star prop was designed by visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic, hired by George Lucas to bring the movie to life.
Expected to sell for six figures, bidding opens on 5/24 and closes on 6/3.
