Smugglers Surrey Star Wars Weekend take place over the weekend of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November 2025, and visitors to the Weybridge Campus of Brooklands Technical College on Heath Road, Weybridge will have the chance to meet a Troop transporter of Imperial officers. On Saturday you can meet Anton Lesser (Major Partagaz in Andor seasons 1 and 2), Robert Emms (Lonni Yung in Andor seasons 1 and 2), Wilf Scolding (Vanis Tigo in Andor season 1) and Louis Martin (Sergeant Benz in Andor season 2), followed on Sunday by Damon Driver (Biker Cop in Solo: Star Wars Story). More guests wil l be announced, but this looks like one to watch, so stay tuned for more guest announcements.

What’s Comic Con?

Starting out as Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970, it was first organized by Shel Dorf and a group of San Diegans. Today, Comic Con is an event encompassing technology and pop culture. The San Diego Comic-Con (U.S.) is a huge annual event in early July, attracting more than 130,000 visitors by showcasing large range of elements; comics, animation, games, and movies. Nowadays, comic conventions are big business with a huge public attention, holding recurring shows not only in American cities, but with its franchised events held in France, the United Kingdom. and Taiwan.

The Mandalorian and Grogu, announced as The Mandalorian & Grogu, is a Star Wars movie that started production in 2024. Directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, it takes place between the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Episode VII: The Force Awakens, focuses on the adventures of Din Djarin and Din Grogu, and will be a spinoff to the TV series Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The film was announced on January 9 that year on StarWars.com with a conceptual sketch by veteran illustrator Ryan Church, along with an announcement of a second season of the television series Star Wars: Ahsoka. A fourth season of The Mandalorian is also still in development.

On May 7, 2019, Disney revealed their future movie release schedule, including a set of three untitled new Star Wars films, one of which had a scheduled release date of December 20, 2024. The Star Wars Show also reported on the news on May 15. On July 23, 2020, after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was delayed to December 19, 2025. After the start of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, Disney shifted their theatrical film release slate, with the film being pushed to its current release date of May 22, 2026. A film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy occupied this release slot until The Mandalorian & Grogu was announced.

Star Wars Insider 224 revealed the initial film logo was the same as the one for The Mandalorian Season Three. In August 2024, during D23 2024, it was revealed that the film had entered production, and a new logo was revealed, in addition to a teaser that was shown to the audience. In August 2024, Sigourney Weaver revealed that she had joined the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Alongside the release of the movie, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will be updated to include a new mission featuring Djarin, Grogu, Tatooine, Endor and Cloud City, which takes place off camera from the film.

On 12-13 July we ran our first ever event at NEC Birmingham, and we’re excited to announce that we will be BACK next year.
We’re all a fan of something, and Comic Con Midlands is the best place to celebrate all things pop culture. As well as having the chance to meet your heroes, get an item signed or a photo, many guests will also appear live on stage so you’ll get to hear directly about their new projects and previous roles.
Outside of the celebs you can get your picture taken with some of our unique props and set builds; watch the fabulous cosplayers strut their stuff on stage (or join them); test yours skills in our retro and modern gaming areas; or browse through the unique gifts in our trader and artist areas with a large show floor for the perfect shopping experience for everyone in our community.
The shared fandoms and sense of community is central to everything we do. Fans from all over the UK come together at our shows every year to share their love of comics, fantasy, sci-fi, gaming, horror and cosplay. To find and bond with like-minded individuals who share their interests.

Lucca Comics & Games

The leading pop event in the West in terms of visitor numbers, cultural offerings, media exposure, and the number and quality of Italian and international guests.

Between late October and early November, hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts, families, collectors, and the curious flock to Lucca’s city center to celebrate the worlds of comics, board games, video games, illustration, film, theme songs, and television series. The latest publishing releases from 700 exhibitors from around the world, along with film premieres, exhibitions, hundreds of events, including talks, theater performances, and concerts, and the cosplay community.
