James Mangold on George Lucas: “Part maverick, part theoretician, part adventurer”

While the film failed to ignite the box office as hoped, those who saw Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny were entertained by an action adventure movie that honoured the adventures that came before it, lovingly homaged by director James Mangold who took the directing reins from Steven Spielberg and delivered a rip-roaring story that closed the book on Henry Jones Jr. Replying to a post on social media, Mangold took a question regarding the contributions of Executive Producer George Lucas to the Dial of Destiny production, and his reply was as illuminating to us as the search for the grail was to Henry Jones Sr.
