Meet Robert Herrick, a Disney cast member at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular in Orlando who deserves a lot of credit, as he’s the guy who without hesitation leaped in front of a bouncing, 440lb boulder and stopped it from crashing into the audience, averting a potential disaster and injuring himself in the process. Speaking with WFTV Channel 9 he described how he’s currently feeling, revealing his only thought as the boulder made its way off the attraction and towards the crowd – “My only thought was that thing could reach the audience.”
The Disney cast member who put himself between a 400-pound inflatable boulder prop and the “Indiana Jones” audience watching the Hollywood Studios show is recovering at home after being injured.
Robert Herrick fractured two vertebrae when he collided with the ball, which was captured in videos that went viral.
Herrick, a longtime cast member and stuntman on the show, downplayed the significance of his actions and said he is excited to get back to his Disney family after he finishes recovering.
