We know The Mandalorian & Grogu will be with us 22nd April 2026, and that Ahsoka season 2 is gearing up to go into production at Pinewood in late spring, but there had been no official confirmation of a fourth season of the smash hit Disney Plus series The Mandalorian….until now. Speaking with French entertainment news program BFMTV INSIDE, showrunner Jon Favreau laid out the current state of play, explaining that in order for the full story of the Mandoverse to be properly mapped, the fourth season needed to be mapped out and written.
“Season 4? Yeah, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So I was writing it during post-production, because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”
We had the great fortune to chat with Jon back in 2023, a roundtable you can listen to here.
