● Available to collect from 1st September until 12th October, the cards and albums teach kids about how to help the planet as well as different healthier foods
● Over 90 million cards were collected during the last Disney collaboration in 2019

Sainsbury’s is bringing back its much-loved Disney Collectable Cards and Album this September. The popular cards featuring Disney, Pixar, Star Wars™ and Marvel, will return from 1st September until 12th October, available in all Sainsbury’s stores across the UK and online.

With 144 cards to collect in total, this year’s Disney Heroes ‘On a Mission’ cards and album will teach kids how they can help the planet through a mixture of fun activities such as games, facts, challenges, quizzes, creative art, recipes and more.

Each album costs £2.50 and children can kick-start their collection with two free packs (containing four cards in each pack) for every album purchased. What’s more, for every £10 spent in-store and online, a free pack of cards will be gifted, whilst mega-fans can enhance their collection by purchasing additional booster packs for 50p.

Customers can further build their collection by earning one free pack when purchasing specific items in store, including coffee, washing up liquid and fruit and vegetables (full list below). Up to 15 packs are available in a single transaction*

Sainsbury’s recently announced its new brand slogan ‘Helping Everyone Eat Better’. The new focus reflects Sainsbury’s belief that healthy and delicious food should be available to everyone, and will see the retailer make it easier and more accessible for customers to incrementally improve their diets while helping to reduce their impact on the environment.*

This year’s cards and album echo the retailer’s mission, with each of the five unique chapters in the Heroes album focusing on a fundamental element that makes up our world, inspired by the nation’s favourite Disney Heroes:

❖ Chapter One: Mission Food – Aimed to help children learn about the power of food by offering inspiring ideas of how to make healthier food fun and tasty
❖ Chapter Two: Mission Water – Teaches kids to love and respect the water that makes up our world including how to care for our oceans
❖ Chapter Three: Mission Energy – Gets children inspired about energy and how to control it – including how to make, save and share energy
❖ Chapter Four: Mission Animals – Encourages children to explore and care for our precious animal kingdom and learn about different creatures
❖ Chapter Five: Mission Planets – Inspires children to discover the beautiful landscapes of our planet

Sainsbury’s has previously collaborated with Disney to launch the Collectable Cards and Album range. The cards have been hugely popular over the past few years, with children racing to stores to complete their collections. The last year that the Heroes cards were available, over 90 million cards were collected in just six weeks.

Radha Davies, Director of Brand Communications and Creative at Sainsbury’s says: “We’re thrilled to bring back our popular collectable cards this September. We hear from parents across the UK how much their kids loved collecting them and it’s an event they really look forward to.

“As well as helping keep kids entertained, this year’s cards aim to teach children about different foods and the planet in a fun and engaging way. We’re dedicated to helping everyone eat better, and we hope the cards and album help teach younger generations to look after themselves and the planet.”
