While many of us will shake their heads in disbelief and others will claim forlornly ‘I used to have that figure when I was a kid!’, the plain facts are that vintage, mint-condition Star Wars figures can command a fortune, and the ongoing Hakes Auction is clear evidence of that as Zach Oat, Marketing Supervisor for Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant Ltd reveals.
Vintage Star Wars collectibles are always in demand, and interest only goes up with every successful new entry in the franchise. With much love for the Andor series on Disney+, now seems to be a great time to sell vintage Star Wars pieces, as evidenced by the current auction going on over at Hake’s.
One of the top earners in the ongoing auction (so far) is a Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi with Double-Telescoping Lightsaber, from 1978, AFA-graded 75. It’s currently sitting at a cool $34,100, with a couple of days left to go.
