Let’s talk about this real jewelry produced in Brazil, extremely rare and much sought after by collectors from other countries. It is a Star Wars based figure produced in the 1980’s in Brazil, and one of the first collectible items produced here and perhaps the first Action Figure 3 3/4 produced in the country, as well as being one of the rarest and most sought-after items related to Star Wars in the world.

Model Trem – Adventure in the Galaxies

Model, Modeltrem, or Hobbylândia was a company specialized in producing accessories and models for cast iron ferromodelism in Rio de Janeiro, its products were sold in stores that sold items for modelism and toys mainly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro .

With the importation closed in the country in the 80’s, few lucky ones who traveled could have the original 77-83 figures produced by Kenner, and today called vintage.

It was there that the Model Train, made molds of the original figures and produced replicas basically in “Lead”, and different than is believed, many toys that were known to be produced in lead, are actually produced in a league called zamac, not soldiers and neither the Model Train are produced in lead, after 1960 the lead was abolished of the production in toys and replaced by zamac because of the intoxication by the lead, that is to say after the decade of 60 nothing was produced in lead, some of these figures also had parts produced in resin or totally in resin like Gamorrean Guard.

These pieces were not considered as counterfeits because they were sold as replicas, under the series name “Adventure in the galaxy”, it carried practically all the figures already released, and some ships that did not resemble the original ones, that were produced with wood and metal, and the figures, in addition to lead also had ceramic and plastic parts.

Since they were completely handcrafted, they were painted and hand-made, and some of them showed differences, even though they were the same character, from arms to legs modified, some like the originals and others modified later.

This was our contact in Brazil with Action Figure Star Wars, the main stores that sold the dolls were the Miniature in Shopping Ibirapuera and later Laura Toys at the Shopping Morumbi.

There was a glass showcase under the counter that showed all the figures, which were cataloged by numbers and made no mention of names or Star Wars. And in the warehouse were the boxes of cardboard containing the figure.

Shortly after the Glasslite around 1988 bought the rights to “produce” the original figures in Brazil, then Model had to stop producing their handmade figures, soon after Model continued to produce figures but now called “New Adventure in the Galaxy” who took advantage of the old molds and pieces were changed and modified between the figures.
