Hasbro Pulse Con revealed new toys, including new Star Wars Black Series releases. I’ve made action figure wish lists in the past – and some of them have actually come true – so here’s my latest list of unlikely choices:
Darth Vader
Force Vision Ghost
Darth Vader comic series
While battling the Sith “artist” Darth Momin, Vader “spirit” is basically thrust out of his body. While battling past demons of his Jedi past, Vader’s Force Vision Ghost has white arms and legs (representative of his cut-off limbs) and a fiery torso and head with twin ghostly lightsabers attached to his glowing hands. Quite an image.
Demagol
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic comic series
The Mandalorian butcher from the Dark Horse series. Skinny and spackled with blood.
Lucien Drey
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic comic series
Another of my favorite characters from the KOTR comic books was corrupt Jedi Master Lucien Drey. He dressed fancy, his was beholden to his mother and her mission, a member of the order-within-the-Jedi-Order Covenant and killed Padawans.
Drash and Skad with Speeder Bikes
The Book of Boba Fett
Y’know, the Mod Biker Gang from Mos Eisley, stealing water and being Boba Fett’s foot soldiers? Before you throw a fit about this choice, check out this great article explaining why the producers and directors made their choices.
The New Max Rebo band
The Book of Boba Fett
Speaking of Boba Fett, now playing in the Sanctuary cantina on Tatooine, we find out that Max survived Jabba’s sail barge explosion. Not only that, he survived to get a new band (true, they may have blown up later on in the series, but still…). What a super group; a Bith classical guitar player and a drumming astromech droid.
Alpha 17
Dark Horse Clone Wars comics series
Before Captain Rex, there was Alpha. Alpha was an ARC commando under Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. At the end of his “service,” a wounded Alpha was taken by Asaaj Ventress to unknown space. Alpha and his whole series became non-canon once Disney took over…
Darth Vader
with Broken Mask and Shield
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Dark Visions
The second Vader on the list, with some new accessories! First off is his broken mask, courtesy of Obi-Wan Kenobi in his own series, damaged in their 3rd lightsaber battle. But you can still see the angry face of Anakin Skywalker.
The cover of the comic mini-series featured Vader on a horse-like animal with his lightsaber and a shield with the Imperial logo on it. You could put these two Vader’s as separate: complete with heavily damaged armor and a replaceable helmet. The next Vader would just have the shield to look dope.
Finn, Jedi Knight
possible future Star Wars properties
By the end of The Rise of Skywalker, it was determined that Finn, a former Stormtrooper with the First Order had Force abilities. Which is excellent, since Rey is now looking to train a new generation of Jedi Knights, unencumbered by previous teachings or memories. Plus, Finn knows how to use a lightsaber and has a bond with Rey.
Unfortunately, the actor John Boyega had a falling out with Lucasfilm about his character, so seeing Finn (outside of a comic) becoming a Jedi is pretty unlikely, but the figure could be cool…
Captain Lang
The Book of Boba Fett
I am a big fan of the Terminator and Alien saga, and therefore, of actor Michael Biehn, and yes, he played Lang in the second season of The Mandalorian. Described as a gunslinger/soldier, he was everything I wanted him to be in the show.
Terek
In modified First Order armor
Poe Dameron comic series
I do like Star Wars armor, and nobody had unique armor like Terek, an Imperial-turned- crime boss-turned-First Order agent.
The helmet should be removable and the armor would look good in action figure form.
UPDATE
The list got some celebrity attention, from no less a Star Wars star than our friend David Collins.
