Could we be seeing further expansions coming to Galaxy’s Edge? According to Disney CFO Christine McCarthy that might be the case. During the investors call late last week she hinted there could be more to Batuu than we currently know.
“…we also expect that while we continue to pursue strong cost mitigation efforts, certain costs will be elevated in fiscal ’22 versus pre-pandemic levels, including, for example, inflationary pressure on wages, costs related to new projects and initiatives such as Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, Avenger’s Campus, and the EPCOT expansion…”
PlexReel took a look at some of the ideas that were floating around prior to the opening of the parks back in 2019.
The Kalikori Club
The Kalikori Club is the name of a table-service restaurant idea that has yet to come to fruition. The restaurant would have been “behind” Oga’s Cantina, a space that remains empty to this day.Unnamed Attraction
A slow-moving ride aboard a quadruped named Elee (informally “Bantha ride”) was another idea that was announced but never realized.Bounty Hunter Ride
Another early concept was a Bounty Hunter pursuit ride, in which passengers might take on the role of a Bounty Hunter and be pursued by authorities.Speeder Bike Race
Another attraction wouldn’t throw visitors on the back of a speeder bike and have them engage in a chase scene with Stormtroopers.
D23 is only a week away, so perhaps in additon to more onscreen reveals we could learn a tad more about these potential Galaxy’s Edge expansions.
