David Acord is a sound editor and voice actor. He is the voice engineer for “The Child” in The Mandalorian and is the voices of the stormtrooper FN-2199 (often known as TR-8R) in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, “Rotta the Huttlet” in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and many other voices in the Star Wars universe.

David was the supervising sound editor of Star Wars: The Force Awakens for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Sound Editing and a British Academy Film Award for Best Sound alongside fellow sound editor Matthew Wood. In 2020, he received his second Academy Award nomination for Best Sound Editing for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, shared with Matthew Wood.

In addition to creating the voice of “The Child” on The Mandalorian he is the supervising sound editor and sound designer. He was a sound designer and supervising sound editor for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Resistance, Star Wars: Rebels, and has contributed to many other Star Wars feature film, animated, and video game projects.
