Mexican Football Team Club Tijuana Adopt Stunning ‘Star Wars’ Themed Kit

Mexican football team, Club Tijuana Xolos, will have special Star Wars themed kits for their match today (kick-off 3.10am GMT) with a Sith Trooper on the outfield players shirts and their goalkeeper adopting a First Order Trooper top.

You can buy the kit from Charly.com here.  The strips are limited to 15,000 pieces and priced at 1,499 pesos / $100 dollars each.

The jersey will be used for the first time by the team today in the match between Club Tijuana and Rayados de Monterrey.  The team will wear the jersey for the second time during the match between Club Tijuana and Club León, on Friday, November 22nd.

Translation:  “This project also reflects our commitment to the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits, encouraging sports and outdoor activities through our stories, content, experiences, and characters,” said David Chavez, vice president of marketing for The Walt Disney Company Mexico, in a statement.

Meanwhile, Esteban de Anda, director of strategic alliances and marketing of Club Tijuana that “the agreement reached to celebrate the end of the Skywalker saga makes clear testimony of two important objectives: innovation and vanguard.”
