The organizers of Pyrkon Fantasy Festival have released the official video recording of their main-stage Q&A panel featuring actor Giancarlo Esposito. Renowned for his performances across television and film, Esposito discusses his career, sharing some insights into his creative process, theatrical roots, and building some of pop culture’s most recognizable antagonists.
During the panel, Esposito reflects on his contribution to the Star Wars universe, starring as the chilling and calculating Imperial leader Moff Gideon in the Disney+ hit series The Mandalorian. He discusses the physical and psychological presence required to bring the Imperial leader to life, navigating high-profile franchise sets, and how his philosophy on human vulnerability and internal motivation shapes even the most ruthless villains in the galaxy.
The panel took place during the 25th anniversary edition of Pyrkon, held from June 19 to 21, 2026, at the Poznań International Fairgrounds. As the largest pop-culture and fantasy convention in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe, Pyrkon continues to draw tens of thousands of pop-culture enthusiasts every year.
