Sandworld in Weymouth has a wonderful habit of not only crafting incredible sand sculptures from all corners of life, but more often than not bringing us superbly detailed depictions of characters from the galaxy far, far away. This year that tradition continues as our friends Sarah and Al Queenan visited Lodmore Country Park and took a selection of photographs.

We are open daily from 10.30am
Our theme this season is Science Fiction
Last Admission 22/7 – 3/9 at 4pm
Last Admission 4/9 – 20/10 is 3pm

Sandworld Team
A fun, educational, all-weather family attraction, SandWorld showcases awe-inspiring work by some of the world’s leading sand sculptors – and is the UK’s only Sand Sculpture Festival. Opened in 2011 by Weymouth “Sandman” Mark Anderson, and David Hicks, an aspiring sand sculptor and good friend of Mark.

During this year’s season, see amazing sand sculptures based on films and TV including Alien vs Predator, Avatar, Dr Who, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mandalorian, Star Wars & more. New displays will be added throughout the season, with many guests being able to watch in wonder as sculptors create their works of art. The sculptures are so beautifully detailed, it is hard to believe that they are just sand and water.

You are never too young or too old to create your own mini masterpiece. With daily workshops, plus, plenty of tools and water available, you can enjoy hands-on family fun whilst turning your ideas into 3D art. Take photos and impress your friends and family with your new skills.
