Wakefield Market is to host a special Star Wars day on Sunday 1st September.

That’s no moon… oh wait, it is!

Dig out your lightsabers and dust off your Jedi robes, because Star Wars is heading to Wakefield!

Star Wars day will be a celebration of all things from a galaxy far, far away…

Are you the spitting image of Han Solo or a dead ringer for Rey? Show the world by coming in cosplay as your favourite character (out-of-this-world selfie opportunities guaranteed!).

Speaking of cosplay, why not enter the Lunacon Cosplay Contest! How will you impress the Lunacon judges? Enter the FREE contest here for a chance to impress the judges and win great prizes.

Get ready to dance like you’re listening to the Cantina Band with Boogie Storm’s dancing Stormtroopers – as seen on Britain’s Got Talent! They’ll be performing at 12:15pm and 2pm, with plenty of time before and after to get your very own Stormtrooper selfie!

Play Star Wars video games from across the years as 1Up Club UK bring games from various consoles.

Plus, little Ewoks (and their Wookiees!) will have great fun at the Lego building workstations from Bricktopia.

So hop on your speeder bike, get down to the market hall and get ready for a day of excitement and adventure.

…and may the Force be with you!

Also as part of the event are a number of screenings of Star Wars films throughout the day.

Calling all Star Wars fanatics! Spend the day in a galaxy far, far away with a movie from each of the Star Wars trilogies.

At 10am, the saga begins with The Phantom Menace, the tale of Anakin Skywalker, a young boy whose mysterious powers will start him down the path to becoming a Jedi. Will he bring balance to the Force? Or will the challenges he faces lead him astray? From thrilling podraces to double-ended lightsaber duels, this movie promises excitement aplenty!

Then at 2.30pm, The Empire Strikes Back! A true classic, relive the thrills of Luke Skywalker’s own training with enigmatic Jedi master Yoda. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Princess Leia visit Cloud City – but what treachery awaits them there? Then get ready for the climactic showdown between Luke and Darth Vader himself!

Finally at 6pm, follow Rey’s adventures in The Last Jedi, as she coaxes a reluctant Luke Skywalker to teach her the ways of the Force. As time runs out for her Resistance friends Finn, Poe Dameron and General Leia Organa – trapped on planet Crait at the mercy of the First Order – will she make it there in time to save them?

Enjoy it, you will!
