Emilia Clarke talks Qi’ra: “An honor and a privilege to be part of that universe”

Unbelievably, three years have passed since Solo: A Star Wars Story arrived in cinemas, and while it may not have caught on with the wider cinematic audience as much as was hoped, those who saw it celebrate the film for the rollercoaster action romp it is, and as Qi’ra makes a return in the pages of War of the Bounty Hunters #1, actress Emilia Clarke was asked about the character and her surprise appearance in the issue.

“It means so much, it means the absolute world. I know her backstory. I know her history. Maybe the movie didn’t get to go there, but that was such an honor and a privilege to be part of that universe as an actor. So then, to see the character actually be taken on to the origin of all of it — bringing it on home to the family in that way — cemented it in a way. I was not expecting to feel as moved as I was by that.”

Great to see, and on the topic of War of the Bounty Hunters, thanks to Charles Soule for a shoutout in his monthly newsletter, using a snippet of my review of War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha.
