Great news as the Her Universe Fashion Show returns to San Diego Comic Con for 2019, bringing the power of geek fashion back to the catwalk.

Calling all designers! Announced Saturday at WonderCon, the ultimate runway for fangirl fashion is NOW accepting submissions for this year’s Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con. Designers will be selected to compete for the chance to win the grand prize of designing a fashion collection with Her Universe to be sold at Hot Topic. This year’s Fashion Show will be presented by Her Universe, Hot Topic and DreamWorks Animation’s critically acclaimed series, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

“I am thrilled to join forces with DreamWorks Animation and the She-Ra team for this year’s Fashion Show. I am a huge fan of the series and everything it represents,” said Her Universe Founder Ashley Eckstein. “Inspired by She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, the theme of this year’s show will be The Power of Fashion.

“We are asking designers to submit designs that represent powerful characters, stories or properties, keeping with the rule that the design can be inspired by anything that is celebrated at San Diego Comic-Con,” Eckstein adds. “I’ve always equated an outfit to be like armor. Fashion should inspire and empower the wearer to conquer the day! Some call it a ‘power suit’ – we are asking designers to bring the power of geek couture!”

The fashion show once again offers fans and amateur designers, male or female, the opportunity to submit their own female fashion designs based on anything that is celebrated at Comic-Con, original or inspired by popular media. The design competition submission process is OPEN NOW and designers, 18 years and older, can submit designs to be considered for the fashion show online here. All applicants must enter online. Entries must be received by Friday, April 19th , 2019, 11:59pm PST. Late entries will not be considered. Finalists will be contacted individually via email no later than April 26th, 2019.

Returning this year for those under 18 is the Junior Fashion Design Competition presented by Cartoon Network. Does your child dream of becoming a fashion designer? Here’s their chance to work with Her Universe and Cartoon Network on a collection for Steven Universe and retailer BoxLunch. Junior designers between the ages of 6-17 are asked to submit up to three designs inspired by the Steven Universe series. Winners of the Cartoon Network Junior Designer Contest will be chosen solely from their designs and submission.
