Adam Driver is in talks to join the Ridley Scott project, The Last Duel.  The period drama from Disney Pictures and 20th Century Fox already has Matt Damon and Jodie Comer amongst its cast.

Set in 14th century France, this is an epic tale of betrayal and justice, told from three distinct points of view: two knights (Damon and Driver) whose bond is tested by treachery and a young woman (Comer) forced to navigate the brutal and oppressive culture of the era in order to survive.

Ben Affleck was originally eyeing what is now Driver’s leading role but opted out due to a scheduling conflict with “Deep Water”. He will instead appear in a supporting part. Damon and Affleck are co-writing the script with Nicole Holofcener (“Can You Ever Forgive Me”).
