Ambient Star Wars Volume 2 – The Chill Out Strikes Back

Following on from last year’s excellent Ambient Star Wars Volume 1, lifelong Star Wars fan and musician Mark Rolfe is releasing the second volume on March 7th via Bandcamp.

As with the first collection, Mark has reworked 8 themes from the galaxy far, far away, this time including Rey’s Theme, A Princess Appears, Light of the Force and Victory Celebration. We’ve had an advance listen to the album and it’s certainly picking up where the first instalment left off, and is a must for Star Wars music fans.

The cover for volume two is under wraps until the release, but I’d expect more vintage figures and vintage synthesizers, as with the first volume below.

In addition to being a great way to unwind, Mark is again donating profits to charity, and as he’ll be appearing and playing live at both Echo Base Live 16 in Redditch on 29th March and Star Wars Fan Fun Day in Blackburn on May 4th, the beneficiaries will be the charities supported by these fantastic events. Mark will also be appearing as part of the awesomely named Max Repro Band at the pre-event dinners for both events.

The digital download costs £6.00 and a limited edition CD costs £8.00 (which also includes the digital tracks) and is available from Bandcamp from March 7th, which is also ‘Bandcamp Friday’ where the platform waives its usual fees, meaning the artists (and in this case the charities too) benefit from more of your support.

If you’ve already got Volume 1 then you’ll want to keep up with this release and if not, why not! Set yourself a reminder for Friday March 7th and pick up both albums for yourself or the Star Wars fan in your life!

And then relax….
