Episode 3 – Harvest
Official summary: Time is running out for everyone.
Trivia
The kid chasing B2EMO has a toy Wookiee bowcaster, and is later seen holding a marionette of an AT-ST.
The little yellow droid is called AGR9 according to the subtitles.
There are also two aliens seen wearing coveralls. They look a lot like Talpini, but the ones seen in this episode appear to have no horns, which the Talpini do have.
The creature with long horns in the background has been identified as a Mina-Rau bier beast. It was based on unused concept art from Season 1 for cattle on Aldhani.
“A day to remember” is said, which echoes the line of Tarkin of “A day long remembered” with the end of the rebellion. Let’s hope for Syril that Eedy is as wrong about that, as Tarkin was.
Dedra was raised in an Imperial Kinder-Block. Kinder is actually German for Children.
And with caf and spiced tea we have the only recognizable food/drink items mentioned, but the fondue inspiration is quite clear.
Chandi Merle are 12 temple statues that got stolen 25,000 years ago by Rakatan invaders. Eight have been found, five brought back to Chandrila, and the statue given as a wedding gift makes that nine found, six returned home. The Rakata are pretty well-known by now as the ancient invading alien species from the games Knights Of The Old Republic and The Old Republic. What makes this reference extra interesting is the timing of 25,000 years ago. That is also the date used for the forthcoming James Mangold movie.
The Imperial troop carrier seen on Mina-Rau was earlier filmed and used as an Imperial transport vehicle, but that one appears later in the season as the episodes were filmed out of order.
Talking about speeders, there has been a fair amount of reusing of speeders between Andor season 1 and The Acolyte, but also between The Acolyte and Andor season 2. Also, the speeder of Brasso makes the same sound as the ones from Return of the Jedi on Endor.
Besides the Imperials from the previous episode, we also now have a Sergeant Stang (James Craze). Stang has been an Aldereenian curse word since Splinter Of The Mind’s Eye. It was brought back into canon in Servants Of The Empire: Edge Of The Galaxy.
The speaker droid with the second musical number looks like the modified ASN courier droid that Zam Wesell used in Attack Of The Clones.
Its music? The ever-returning Season 1 musical track called Niamos!, but this time used in-universe for the first time.
During the wedding in both this and the previous episode, multiple unknowns species can be seen including one that debuted in The Last Jedi with the character Letrun Pay. Also seen is one seen previously in The Acolyte (the unknown nose-less species) and one from 2×01 with a character named Jodi
