BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.

Episode 4 – Ever Been to Ghorman?

Official summary: Cassian and Bix adjust to a Luthen safehouse. All eyes are on Ghorman. Wilmon visits Saw Gerrera.

Trivia
The nightmares continue for Bix, with her seeing Dr. Ghorst torturing an unknown soldier. It is later explained in the episode that this was an Imperial soldier who Bix and Cassian encountered on a mission and that Cassian felt like he had to kill to keep Bix save.

The safe house is on Coruscant. Considering how huge the city planet is, it is actually not that weird to hide there, even if it is the seat of the galactic government.

Syril has some spider figurines. As mentioned in first episode of the season, the Ghorlectipods are responsible for producing Ghorman silk. The silk is now also called Ghorman twill, which comes from The High Republic novel Convergence.

Spanning the wire to see if someone has entered his apartment is a classic spy trick and shows that Syril is learning from Dedra.

As Syril walks on the street of Palmo we see some trash bins. This must be the first time that we get to see trash bins in live-action. As long-time readers and listeners know, we here at Fantha Tracks love the ‘Bins of Batuu’ at Galaxy’s Edge, so we’re going to name these the ‘Garbage-cans of Ghorman’.

While the plaza seems like an actual filming location, it was actually filmed as a large set. It was inspired by architecture of the Grand Mosque of Rome.

Behind the plaza they are building a new Imperial building. Which is what the Empire did on Lothal as seen in Rebels. On Lothal it did acted like a fortress and weapon facility, so the Ghorman citizens who speak up at the assembly later in the episode are probably not wrong with their worries.

On the plaza we see some sort of game with triangles, as well as spaces for other board games, and space-pigeons.

It is also interesting to point out how all the natives that carry a bag seem to have it made from brown leather, yet Syril’s is a metallic grey kind of suitcase, making him still stand out. When he gets the spider figurine there is one other individual holding a grey one, making him probably a tourist or an Imperial.

The Ghorman Front is led by Carro Rylanz (performed by Richard Sammel) and consist of his daughter Enza (Alaïs Lawson), Samm (Abraham Wapler) and Dilan (Théo Costa Marini).

There is new dog-like pet seen on the streets of Ghorman. The exact species is unknown, but according to the Official Website trivia it was called Elvis.

Back on Coruscant we see Cassian and Bix getting dinner at a store. The store Aurebesh sign reads on top: “Samo’s Bodega, Deli Grocery”. The lower line reads: “Ready to eat dry food. Noodles – blue, green and purple”. And the lower line in yellow reads: “Open all day and all night”. A can in the store reads “Fung”, which we assume is a partial with the other letters not seen due to the curve of the can.

While not mentioned anywhere, in the episode or end credits or database, it would make sense that the Bodega vendor is Samo. Unless Samo’s is a franchise.

Ukio is mentioned as the world where the melons come from. This is a world first introduced in The Last Command, and which since has mostly appeared in RPG sourcebooks.

Moski peppers are extra hot spicy peppers, presumably from Moski, which would be a new world. The real world analogue are chili peppers which originate in Central or South America. Considering that Diego Luna is from Mexico, we are sure he is as tough as he looks and that he can handle Moski peppers.

While in the store you can hear in the background the typical Coruscant police sirens from The Clone Wars.

Another new product that we are introduced to is Dirjo, used for cleaning.

Yes, that is indeed podracing seen on the screen! You can even hear the Sebulba’s engines sound effect as Syril arrives and they quickly turn it off. It’s interesting that Imperials watch it, as technically it was forbidden under the Empire.

These Imperials are unnamed and appear in the end credits as IOC Guards, performed by Robin Berry (the speaking one) and Alan Mehdizadeh.

Mothma mentions P.O.R.D., which stands for Public Order Resentencing Directive and was introduced in Season 1. It was the reason why Cassian got send with a much higher sentence then is normal, to Narkina 5.

In Mothma’s senate office we are introduced to Dasi Oran, the Ghorman senator. He was performed by Raphael Roger Levy.

During Mon Mothma’s lobbying you also see two familiar species first introduced in The Force Awakens: a Tarsun (the one on the left and who has a speaking role, but despite that is not named in the end credits) and an Ottegan. The Tarsunt looks a lot like the New Republic chancellor Lanever Villecham.

Worlds mentioned during the lobby are Kaifo (new) and Tepasi. Tepasi was mentioned before in the previous season, and is the homeworld of Grand General Cassio Tagge, who we see aboard the Death Star in A New Hope.

The assembly introduces us to new locals: Sunif Brecanti, Lezine and Velka. The end credits also mention Dreena, Tazi and Capso. It is as of yet uncertain who these last three locals are.

The Tarkin Massacre is explained later in the episode and seems to match with the incident as established by West End Games in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook. The only big change is that it now occurred much earlier in the timeline.

It turns out that before the Resistance used it as a base in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, that Saw was using D’Qar for the same purpose.

A fair few well-known faces from Rogue One can be spotted here: Benthic and Edrio (Tognaths), Moroff (a Gigoran), Leevan Tenza (the Sabat) and Kullbee Sperado (the Meftian). Pluti is new however.

Rhydonium, the dangerous to handle fuel source has been established in The Clone Wars, with indeed a huge explosion.
