The presence in the very final seconds of season one of The Mandalorian of the darksaber opens up a galaxy of possibilities and questions. Where did he gets it from? Who did he kill to get it, or did he steal it? Who’s going to come looking for it in season two – indeed, could we be looking at our season 2 Mcguffin? All those questions will start to be answered in October when season two arrives but speaking with ET, Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito touched on that topic.

“To have this saber means I could use it , and I can do my own dirty work, that I’m a fighter, I’m a warrior, that’s part of me, also creates the possibility that he is, ya know, one of the ones, ya know, like, he possibly has THAT and that to me is interesting. Because, is he really that fallen hero?”

Esposito has more to say, so check out the video at the 6 minute 50 seconds mark for his Star Wars related answers.
