As we enter the year of the fifth anniversary of its release, Rogue One continues to delight and as Andor filming progresses and interest in the pre-Scarif/Yavin era continues to escalate, ILM Animation Director Hal Hickel shared an image from a deleted scene, and as the thread grew more interesting information trickled out.

Hickel revealed that there was a deleted scenbe between Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin that never made it into the film, with Gary Whitta explaining that he didn’t write that scene so it was presumably added by Chris Weiss.

Additionally Aurek Fonts asked a very pertinent question, whether the visual above was created by rear screen projection or a similar technique to StageCraft, and Hickel revealed it was the latter.
