She was a great pal of Carrie Fisher, an 80’s UK TV icon, not to mention she pulled double duty as Moffi and Toffi in season 2 of Andor, and now Ruby Wax is heading to the jungle to take part in the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which means we’re in for a few weeks of Ruby.

Ruby, 72, shot to fame in the 70s as an actress, comedian and writer. But nowadays she’s known as a mental health expert.

Ahead of her stint, she said: ‘It hasn’t actually sunk in that I am doing this, but I am really looking forward to meeting my fellow campmates.

‘I was offered the chance to take part a long time ago and I thought, “No, I could never do that” but now it’s the right time. I like doing adventurous things.

‘It will be nice for people to get to know the real me because you can’t hide in the jungle.

‘In my personas before, I looked quite aggressive and pushy, and I think it was just my nerves. I am not aggressive, it’s the way I talk. I’m not confrontational and it looked like I was. ‘

Phobias: Nothing

Dream campmate: Barack Obama

Don’t forget, you can watch Moffi and Toffi’s co-hosts Boffi and Poffi on a special episode of Good Morning Coruscant.
