Writing over at Nerdist, Blair Marnell looks at the music of John Williams, specifically this video posted by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson taken during the scoring sessions for the now Oscar nominated soundtrack.

John Williams is a cinematic treasure. Even if he hadn’t created the iconic music for Star Wars, Williams’ contribution to the last fifty-plus years of movie scores is immeasurable. This year, Williams is up for his 51st Oscar nomination, which is a record that’s unlikely to be broken anytime soon. Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson certainly appreciates everything that Williams has done for this franchise, and he recently shared a behind-the-scenes clip of Williams conducting his orchestra as they played the opening theme for the film.
