In what could be a Nessonian double bluff or a straight up statement of fact, Star Wars: Starfighter writer Jonathan Tropper has, while speaking to ScreenRant about his new Prime Video action comedy The Wrecking Crew, not only spoken about the May 28th 2027 film but tried to lay to rest any rumours that the film could feature cameos from familiar faces, stating that the film will steer its own course and avoid any legacy character walk-ons, so don’t go expecting any Chris Evans / Jonny Storm-level appearances from familiar GFFA characters.

Obviously, lightsabers are a part of that universe and that part of that galaxy. I’m so careful not to reveal anything, but essentially, I think it’s known that we have no legacy characters. You’re not going to see any of the characters you’ve seen in the other movies. So there are certain things that are still hallmarks of Star Wars that it’s good to have in there. But more than that, I can’t say.
