Lost showrunner Carlton Cuse and son Nick are reportedly developing a new Star Wars series for Lucasfilm. No details on when or where it is set, but with both father and son having such a pedigree in the realm of television, it must surely bode well for another intriguing trip into the GFFA. Carlton was behind Lost, the show that cemented the reputation of future sequel trilogy director J.J. Abrams, while Nick worked on Masters of the Air, which included ILM visual effects, so both have connectons to the Lucasfilm world.

Prolific Lost showrunner Carlton Cuse is taking a journey into the Star Wars galaxy, with son Nick Cuse at his side. The duo is in early development on a Star Wars series for Lucasflim, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Carlton Cuse’s lengthy credits include Bates Motel, The Strain, Jack Ryan and Netflix’s recently released medical drama Pulse. Nick Cuse worked with his father’s Lost co-showrunner Damon Lindelof on Watchmen and The Leftovers, with his credits also including Station Eleven and Masters of the Air.

After putting Disney+ on the map with early breakout hit The Mandalorian in 2019, Lucasfilm and sister Disney brand Marvel Studios have slowed development on their TV shows in recent years. In the heady days of the streaming wars, new shows from both brands were announced with regularity, whereas the more measured approach means this potential Cuse show is the first new live-action Star Wars series to come to the public’s awareness in some time.

Details on the Star Wars project are being kept under wraps.

What could the show be We’ll be sure to hypothesize on future episodes of Making Tracks and Good Morning Tatooine as we move past Celebration Japan into the month of Andor: A Star Wars Story and beyond.
