He famously turned around the score for Rogue One in 4 weeks, has written music for Disney Parks and is currently rumoured to be working on the music for Galaxy’s Edge with John Williams. Now Michael Giacchino is returning to the Marvel Universe for a second swing at Spider-Man with the score for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

We’ve had a busy day in superhero land as Ryan Cougler has been confirmed to be writing and directing the sequel to smash hit Black Panther, and the return of Star Wars composer Giacchino is even more great news.

Michael Giacchino is set to return as the composer of Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film is directed by Jon Watts who helmed the previous installment in the series and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jake Gyllenhaal, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Hemky Madera, Numan Acar and J.B. Smoove.

Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers (The Lego Batman MovieAnt-Man and the Wasp) wrote the screenplay. Kevin Feige (Avengers, Black PantherGuardians of the Galaxy) and Amy Pascal (VenomThe Post) are producing the project.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5, 2019 by Sony Pictures.
