Digital animation studios, Polygon Pictures, established in 1983, have just released a press statement via twitter confirming their involvement in the new Star Wars cartoon Star Wars Resistance.
Polygon Pictures (“PPI” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that our studio will be producing animation for Star Wars Resistance, the newest Star Wars animated series.
Polygon Pictures previously produced animation for the 3D CG series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Emmy award-winner for two consecutive years, and we are pleased to once more be involved in a Star Wars animated series.
They added a little detail about the timeline of the series and it’s main characters;
Star Wars Resistance is an animated series set amongst the events leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While many details are yet to be announced, it will follow Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order, along with appearances by established characters including Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma.
With regards to release dates nothing has yet to be confirmed although it will be available on all Disney channels.
Star Wars Resistance will premiere this fall on Disney Channel in the U.S. and, thereafter, on Disney XD and around the world. (Regarding any announcements on Japan broadcast, we would obviously like to be the first to announce).We hope you are looking forward to this newest 3D CG animated Star Wars series!
Those involved in the show include
The series was created by renowned Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels); executive-produced by Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles); and art-directed by Amy Beth Christenson (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels).
