With storylines fixed firmly in the criminal underworld of the Star Wars galaxy, perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised that a real life crime appears to have been committed on the set of Jon Favreau’s live action Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
According to The Blast, expensive equipment was stolen overnight from the camera department at the studio in Manhattan Beach. Bad enough that property was taken, but the major concern is if any of the equipment contained memory cards, which could hold sensitive material relating to the production.
Both Lucasfilm and police have launched investigations to try and locate the missing gear, and our sources say the main crew members grilled during the initial probe were those that deal with the cameras.
An official for the Manhattan Beach Police Department confirmed that their officers responded to the theft call around 11 AM and the situation is under investigation.
