It’s over. Gather the main cast, do the cinematic screen wipe and play the end credits. Star Wars: The Card game comes to an end and ‘Promise of Power’, the final Force Pack, is now available.

Among its cards you’ll find a thematic dive into the climatic end of Star Wars: Rebels Season 2, support for your Imperial Fighters, and reasons for you to bring multiple factions together in a single deck. The Inquisitors and Ezra Bridger are available to add to your decks, with new objective sets.

There’s still opportunities to play through Fantasy Flight Games’ Organized Play programs, but this is the end of the product releases. Although I never kept up with the game, I did follow its progress and sometimes regretted not getting more involved. Here’s the closing statement on my review, back in 2012:

Star Wars: The Card Game is easy to learn, quick to set up and enjoyable to play. Each game is unique and the tactics you are able to employ are varied. There’s a lot of fun to be had with this game as well the gorgeously illustrated cards which would look amazing in anyone’s collection, much like the models that Fantasy Flight Games produced for their X-Wing miniatures game. There’s flexibility in deck building but then there’s always a level playing field. The core set will keep you going for a long time, but the game will need ongoing support to keep the game fresh and exciting.

All that remains is for me to vanish, and for my cards to flutter away into the breeze.

“Lord Vader has sent me in his place.”
–The Fifth Brother, Star Wars: Rebels

The galactic battles of Star Wars: The Card Game have been played out on countless tabletops, transporting players to a galaxy far, far away. You have fought with both the light side and the dark. You’ve learned the ways of the Force, mobilized soldiers and massive navies, and plunged into the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy. Now, your adventures with Star Wars: The Card Game can continue, though the game itself will be complete. Promise of Power, the final Force Pack for Star Wars: The Card Game, is now available at your local retailer or online through our webstore!

As the conclusion of the Alliances cycle, Promise of Power brings many of the themes of the cycle to their triumphant conclusion. Among its cards, you’ll find a thematic dive into the climatic end of Star Wars: Rebels Season 2, support for your Imperial Fighters, and reasons for you to bring multiple factions together in a single deck. With recognizable characters like the Inquisitors and Ezra Bridger to add to your decks, every Star Wars: The Card Game player will find new objective sets to enjoy in this Force Pack.
