Placed between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws – out sometime in 2024, specifics as yet to be revealed – shows the rise of the crime syndicates during the reign of the Empire and focuses on lead character Kay Vess and she bids to pull off one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. The primary planet in this bold new adventure is the world of Toshara, and Game Rant take a closer look at what we know and what we can expect from this location when we dive into Outlaws in 2024.

Toshara will likely be recognized as one of the most distinguished locations in Star Wars Outlaws, primarily due to it being an original concept by Massive Entertainment and the amount of detail exhibited in the moon’s design. Among Toshara’s most notable features are its wind and the bustling city of Mirogana, which is built into a giant, wind-eroded rock rising from its center.

Inspired by the African savanna, Toshara is characterized by its windswept plains and desert flora, but one can also find large veins of Amberine bursting from the moon’s surface. Furthermore, as wind is such an ever-present force on Toshara, the moon’s inhabitants have developed ways to incorporate it into their daily lives.

The characteristic that will likely determine Toshara’s impact on Star Wars Outlaws the most is that it was specially designed to reflect the central “scoundrel fantasy” theme of the game. In fact, the game’s director, Steve Blank, said in a Star Wars Outlaws behind-the-scenes feature that Toshara “has been built from the ground up with the scoundrel fantasy at its beating heart.”
