Great news ahead of New York Comic Con, the second episode of Vader Immortal got a surprise release at developers conference Oculus Connect 6.

September 25, 2019 – SAN FRANCISCO, CA. In a surprise announcement, ILMxLAB and Oculus Studios revealed that Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode II is now available for both the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift platforms.

Supervisor, Creative Development and Experience Design Jose Perez III and Senior Producer Alyssa Finley announced the highly-anticipated release during the keynote presentation at Oculus Connect 6, Oculus’ sixth annual developer conference.

“At its core, Vader Immortal allows audiences to explore one central question: what would it be like for you to be a hero in a Star Wars adventure, and learn firsthand about Darth Vader’s mysterious plans?” said Finely during the keynote. “We can’t wait for audiences to continue their journey with Episode II.”

Vader Immortal is a three-part canonical Star Wars adventure that allows audiences to step into the role of a Force-sensitive smuggler recruited by Darth Vader himself. In Episode I, they learned how to use a lightsaber and explored the depths of Lord Vader’s castle.

In Episode II, audiences will learn the ways of the Force from the Sith Lord, and battle thrilling new Star Wars creatures while uncovering the secrets of Mustafar. They will also have the opportunity to hone their skills in Lightsaber Dojo II — a standalone training mode that combines lightsaber combat and Force powers for the first time in virtual reality.

“In Dojo II, you will be able to use the Force to stun, pick up, and fling your opponents across the arena,” said Perez. “You can even use the Force to throw your lightsaber.”

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode II is available now on the Oculus Store for $9.99, and is cross-buy enabled for both Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift.
