The rumour mill is grinding faster and faster as EA Play and 22nd July gets closer, and the latest rumour is that Star Wars: Squadrons will be one of the PS Plus games landing next month.

The PS Plus games for June 2021 have allegedly leaked and there’s one pretty big standout title: Star Wars: Squadrons. Although the games haven’t been confirmed, major titles like Star Wars: Squadrons have appeared through Sony’s service before. May featured the likes of Battlefield V in the PS Plus line-up, another EA title, so it’s clear that Sony is trying to put pretty large scale titles on the service as much as possible.

EA is working on more Star Wars titles, which could explain why Star Wars: Squadrons is allegedly coming to the service less than a year after its release. The report comes way of Areajugones (via WCCFTech), a website that correctly reported May’s titles. The site says that this month’s games will be Star Wars: Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and Operation: Tango for PlayStation 5. Although it’s possible that EA has just seen lower engagement and sales with Squadrons in recent months and wants to pump up some numbers like it did for Titanfall 2 in recent digital sales, it could also be setting up more EA Star Wars titles at EA Play this summer.
