With Rogue One enjoying a critically-acclaimed prequel in Andor, Rebels essentially getting a live action season 5 with Ahsoka and the continuation of the Sequel Trilogy in the new Rey Skywalker film – to say nothing of the numerous Mandoverse spin-offs happening over the coming years – the hopes that we see some kind of follow-up to 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story continue to bubble along. Speaking with The Direct, writer Justin Simien briefly mentioned the Lando Calrissian TV project for Disney Plus project and it’s current status.

“I certainly poured my heart and spent a lot of time working with them to put together a really great show. It feels like everybody loves it. And, you know, I was told we had to put a pause on it because of scheduling, and the next update I got [was in 2020], some years ago. So I don’t know, I have no idea what’s going on with it.”

A lot has happened in the world since 2020, so such a delay is hardly surprising, but with Kathleen Kennedy saying at Celebration that “it’s still happening” and Glover is “very excited about it,” we have to hope that there will be movement on the project soon, as the potential for exciting storytelling is boundless.
