The 116th issues of Blocks magazine hits stands 6th June and as always it’s packed to the studs with great brick news, including a look back 25 years to 1999 and the original Star Wars LEGO rush, and an excerpt from LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity.

Blocks, the monthly magazine for LEGO fans, is introducing new sections and a new look this month! There’s an interview with the designers of the new Castle Bed & Breakfast, a review of The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr and an exclusive excerpt from LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity.

Issue 116 is available worldwide as part of a subscription or a single issue at blocksmag.com now and will be in UK stores from June 6.

We’re giving away 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale! To be in with a chance of winning, take out a subscription before July 3, 2024. You’ll be entered into a new draw every month for the duration of your subscription!

Plus, if you take out a print subscription for 12 or 24 months, you’ll get a FREE poster featuring this month’s cover. If you subscribe for 24 months, you’ll ALSO get a FREE copy of 100 Incredible LEGO Builds. The offer is only running for the Bank Holiday weekend!

Before you start building, you need to sort your bricks. The Sort is Blocks magazine’s new opening section that covers what’s going on in the LEGO community, provides creative inspiration, digests the latest news and offers expert analysis.

The redesigned magazine also presents in-depth Blocks interviews better than ever; find out how Design Manager Ilia Gotlib and Senior Graphic Designer Kirsten Bay Nielsen designed 42638 Castle Bed and Breakfast, the new LEGO Friends set every AFOL wants. The feature is illustrated with sketch models and mini-doll concepts.

Turning the clock back to 1999, an exclusive excerpt from LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity reveals how the design team had to work at lightspeed to get the theme’s first sets on toy store shelves before The Phantom Menace arrived in cinemas, with never-before-seen images from the early days of the theme.
Blocks wouldn’t be Blocks without Reviews, but the familiar section has a fresh new look. The team takes a look at some enormous new sets, including 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System and the Space series of Collectible Minifigures.

The story of Modulex continues, with the latest part looking at what happened when architects didn’t want to use the new tool that the LEGO Group created for architects. Fortunately, there were plenty of other ways to make use of these miniaturised LEGO bricks.

Retro is the new section that turns back the clock every month for a look at the LEGO experience of yesteryear. Hop into the Time Cruisers time machine to see what was going on 1986, recall what it was like to play LEGO Chess, build a mini version of Exo-Force 7709 Sentai Fortress and get nostalgic about Castle 6059 Knight’s Stronghold.

Blocks magazine Issue 116 also includes steps to build a mini Barad-dûr, a look at how LEGO bricks are moved around the world, the lost connecting baseplate elements, whether you should throw away your boxes and much, much more.
Blocks is giving away 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale! To be entered into the prize draw and to get Blocks magazine delivered every month – ahead of the shops – visit www.blocksmag.com and check out the money-saving subscription deals available.
