Sad news arrives that Star Wars novelist Michael Reaves has passed away. A prolific writer of childrens TV animation, Reeves wrote a number of Star Wars books including Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter in 2001, through the MedStar Duology with Steve Perry in 2004, Death Star in 2007 (again with Perry), the 2008 – 2009 Coruscant Nights trilogy (the third chapter co-written by Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff), Shadow Games (again with Bohnhoff) and finally The Last Jedi in 2013.

His Star Wars journey started in 1985 with episodes of the animated Droids (the teleplay of Tail of the Roon Comets) and Ewoks (season 2 episodes The Raich and Hard Sell) and his contributions continue to delight fans of the broader galaxy far, far away.

Reaves wrote episode of The Real Ghostbusters, He-Man, Dungeons and Dragons, Transformers, My Little Pony, Superman, Gargoyles, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Batman: The Animated Series, a tenure that enveloped his writing on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, widely considered to be the best of all Batman animated stories.

Condolences to Michaels family, friends, colleagues and numerous fans from a multitude of fandoms.
